LUNA Fête 2016 | Rainbow Sky

The third iteration of LUNA Fête returned to Lafayette Square, showcasing the new Gallier Hall facade renovations and expanding into the skies with Global Rainbow. This seven-laser installation spanned across the LUNA Fête campus, across the Mississippi River and into New Orleans West Bank. Along Lafayette Street, festival-goers enjoyed local artist installations along with interactive experiences and ongoing street performances throughout the festival.

Luna Fete is the love child of New Orleans’ booming art community and its burgeoning high-tech industry. The Arts Council of New Orleans established the Euro-style light-art festival three years ago with plans to expand the radiant nighttime display by the tricentennial in 2018. This year’s fest in the CBD, is the best so far, by far.
