LUNA Fête 2022 | Wild Creation
In 2022, LUNA Fête expanded into Mississippi River Heritage Park
Illuminated costumes, couture, and creativity took center stage at Arts New Orleans’ LUNA Fête presented by New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and New Orleans & Company.
With a theme celebrating New Orleans culture bearers, “Wild Creation” honored New Orleans history of costuming culture with lighted installations from glowing and projected Black Masking Indian suits, illuminated folk tales, and gleaming symbols of transformation from lighted flowers and butterflies to giant glowing bubbles resembling oversized Mardi Gras beads.
2022 included the addition of the LUNA Ball, a glowing masquerade event for VIP guests.
A highlight of the festival’s ninth addition was the interactive projections and premiere of collections by local designers. LUNA Fête transformed the pedestrian park into the ultimate runway for lighted fashion.
“ Luna Fête brings technology, film and contemporary art together while using local iconic architecture in a unique, contemporary way.”
“LUNA Fête, New Orleans’ free light-art festival, is set to dazzle downtown with striking light installations”
