Luna Fête 2015 | Powerhouse
LUNA Fête 2015
In its second iteration, LUNA Fête expanded to multiple sites across New Orleans, illuminating Lafayette Square, Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, and Julia Street. This year our signature projection mapping installation took place on Ashe’ Powerhouse Theater. Created by Portugal-based OCUBO, as a collaborative youth production between Ashe Kuumba Institute participants and students from St. Martin’s Academy, the artwork featured youth and their work alongside the artwork of Terrance Osborne in piece celebrating New Orleans culture.
“New Orleans has a celebrated history of art and architecture, and we applaud the Arts Council New Orleans for continuing to bring our architectural history to the forefront through programs like the annual LUNA Fête, which also adds another element of holiday celebration in New Orleans,” (former) New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said.

“New Orleans is bringing back an unusual art installation and festival of lights called LUNA Fete... The outdoor art-and-lights event uses historic buildings as a canvas for contemporary lighting, animation and interactive video”
“The public is invited to watch a series of vibrant art installations light up Lafayette Square, Julia Street, and Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, as part of a free celebration...
Organizers call it a visionary initiative to transform the community through the Arts Council New Orleans’ LUNA Fete 2015.”
“ARCHITECTURE AS CANVAS: There’s going to be an added treat to the holiday season when a series of animated lighting sequences are projected onto iconic New Orleans buildings. It’s part of LUNA Fete, an art and technology event organized by the Arts Council of New Orleans.”
