What is LUNA Fête?

LUNA Fete, created by Arts Council New Orleans, is a festival of light, art and technology. Launched in 2014 as part of their mission to demonstrate the power of art to transform community, LUNA Fete is a spectacle of light and creativity that utilizes New Orleans’ historic architecture as a backdrop. Premiering in 2014, LUNA Fête is now the longest-running, annual large-scale projection mapping festival in the country.


What are the dates and times of the event?

LUNA Fête 2022 takes place Thursday, December 15th - Sunday, December 18th from 6 - 10 pm nightly.


Where does LUNA Fête take place?

LUNA Fête has appeared in various locations across the city. In 2021, LUNA Fête will be exploring a new campus, the newly created Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Pedestrian Park, spanning 7.2 linear acres along Convention Center Blvd from Julia Street to Henderson Avenue.


What is the cost?

LUNA Fête is free and open to the public to attend. We do encourage you to make a night of the event and purchase food and drinks on site as a way to help support the Arts Council’s efforts to keep LUNA Fête free. Occasionally, installations and/or performances may have limited viewing capacity in which case tickets may be required to view. NEW THIS YEAR- we will only accept credit and debit cards for food, drink, and merchandise payments.


When are showtimes?

Typically showtimes begin at the top of each hour beginning at 6pm with the last show at 10pm. All other installations run throughout the course of the festival.


What is projection mapping?

Projection mapping is the practice of overlaying projecting images onto objects. This approach can be used to turn objects, often irregularly shaped, into display surfaces for video projection. These objects may be complex industrial landscapes, such as buildings, small indoor objects or theatrical stages.


How can I get to the festival?

Parking is available across downtown New Orleans. The LUNA Fête campus is anchored on either end with dedicated surface parking lots. ENMCC Lot G - Accessible via Henderson Avenue and the Hilton New Orleans Riverside lot accessible along Convention Center Blvd. Ubers, Lyfts, and other ride share arrivals and departures will be picked up from the ENMCC Transportation Center, located across from Hall H, which is near the center of the LUNA Fête campus.
