Arts New Orleans’ LUNA Fête is presented by New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and New Orleans & Company.

Free and open to the public, the ninth edition of the annual light, art, and technology festival celebrates New Orleans culture of costumery and the transformative power of fashion.

The event takes place December 15 – 18 from 6 pm to 10 pm nightly at New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Pedestrian Park at 900 Convention Center Blvd.

On Saturday December 17th, patrons can enjoy a VIP experience at The LUNA Ball presented by Jones Walker a dynamic, illuminated soiree to support Arts New Orleans work year round. DJ Mista Kim will be amplifying the evening accompanied to animated projections by Brennan Steel. Patrons can also enjoy exclusive artist appearances. Tickets available for purchase here.

Throughout the free event, festival goers can enjoy engaging illuminated artworks including:

“Sewing of Soul” premiere projection by Thailand-based creative studio DECIDE KIT shows on the Convention Center Hall D facade at the top of each hour. A live fashion show will occur at 6:15 nightly on Magnolia Porch.

On Saturday at 6:30pm the Ellis Marsalis Center Youth Musicians will join forces with Arts New Orleans’ Young Artist Movement for an illuminated pop up performance. Additional musical performances will vary. All other installations run continuously throughout the festival.

“LUNA Fête provides an opportunity to expose our community to premiere international artworks while also elevating local artists,” Arts New Orleans President & CEO Joycelyn Reynolds said.

LUNA Fête’s annual local artist training took a fashion focus for 2022. Sessions were led by Kate Hartman, an internationally recognized artist known for her work in wearable electronics. Hartman provided local culture bearers and artists with the tools and techniques to incorporate lighted elements into their designs, which will be displayed throughout the festival.

Locals and visitors are encouraged to participate in the fun and come adorned in lights or discover illuminated accessories on site.

The LUNA Fête night market returns featuring 30+ of the regionals best artists and craftsmen, offering an ideal holiday shopping opportunity.

Young Artist Movement :

Arts New Orleans’ Youth Artist Movement team will premiere two new original artworks along created by local youth under the leadership of lead artists Monica Kelly and Langston Allston.
